Last Nov. 29 in Milan at the Centro Svizzero took place the award ceremony of the 9th edition of the “From Father to Son” Prize, the award promoted by CERIF (Center for Research on Family Businesses – Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan) with the support of Credit Suisse and KPMG, the contribution of Loconte & Partners, Lombard International Assurance and Mandarin Capital Partners and the patronage of Confimi Industria , which is aimed at Italian entrepreneurs and companies that have achieved successful generational transitions.
47 were the finalists who-after a strict selection-were awarded by the jury chaired by Dr. Paolo Veronesi with the announcement of winners divided into the eight categories provided and one overall winner, Antonio Carraro S.p.A.
Aurora Penne won the award in the “History and Tradition” category, collected by patron Cesare Verona, with the following motivation:
“The constant presence of signs, artifacts, dedicated places (such as museums) within the company’s spaces denotes an uncommon sensitivity to what has been and what will be. The not only symbolic presence of the object that generated the success of this family business celebrates the ability to put down on paper what can be most precious: human thought.”
Special awards were given to Cantiere Nautico Cranchi S.p.A. (Innovation), Damiani (Brothers in Command), La Sportiva and San Marco Group (Internationalization), Tacchificio Villa Cortese S.r.l. (Young Entrepreneur), Fratelli Piacenza S.p.A. (History and Tradition), Acetaia Giusti (Small Businesses), Secondo Mona (Women in Command), Gibus S.p.A. (Openness of Capital).
This important recognition, coming at the close of the centennial year, is in addition to the recent confirmation, for the second year in a row, of “Growth Leader” in the ranking compiled by Sole24Ore and published last Nov. 26, which identifies the 400 Italian companies that have achieved the highest growth rates in the last 3 years.
