Aurora rediscovers its history with “Internazionale”

Founded in 1919 in Turin as the first Italian Tank Pen Factory, Aurora focuses on innovation with an eye always on craftsmanship and tradition. As Aurora approaches its first 100 years, it has decided to enhance its heritage, updating it to wink at future generations.

Aurora is therefore proud to present “International” today, celebrating an iconic pen from the 1930s.

Designed for collectors and all fountain pen enthusiasts, “International” is offered in two versions:

  • A limited edition of only 19 numbered pieces with solid gold finishes priced at 4,800 euros
  • A limited edition of only 919 numbered pieces with vermeil finish, priced at 890 euros.

The body and cap in precious deep blue mottled Auroloid with silver details give prominence to details and decorations that echo the typical styles of the 1930s: the exclusive clasp worked with floral references; the reservoir with special gold lacquered engraving “Fabbrica Italiana di Penne a Serbatoio” (the same as the very first Aurora productions); special rings mounted according to the ancient technique of manual hammering finally embellish the cap and reservoir.

Equipped with an 18Kt gold nib, this pen will thrill the most demanding writers by having available a range of 20 different nibs, the pride of the Turin-based company that, unique in Italy and among the few in the world, has been expertly crafting them for nearly a century. Again, the logo engraved on the nib echoes Aurora’s early production.

The conduit, the fountain pen’s core, is made of ebonite, by far the best material for fountain pens, and the filling system is piston with hidden reserve.

The project included a study of a special sheath made by retrieving an advertisement from Aurora’s historical archive.
