Aurora and Officina della Scrittura standard bearers of writing at “Milanofil”

From March 22 to 23, Superstudio Più, the exclusive location located at Via Tortona 27 in Milan’s symbolic Made in Italy district, will host the XXXII edition of the philatelic event “Milanofil,” the benchmark event for the entire world of philatelic collecting in Italy organized by Poste Italiane.

After the success of last year’s edition, which registered more than 10,000 participants, Poste Italiane is relaunching the event by broadening its horizons and opening its spaces to exhibitors from other areas of collecting, such as numismatics, vinyl, comics, vintage cars, model railroads and, from this year, vintage fountain pens.

Aurora Penne, the historic Turin-based manufacturer celebrating its first 100 years this year, and Officina della Scrittura, the Museum of Sign and Writing located next door to the factory, have thus been chosen by Poste Italiane to represent Italian excellence in the field of collectible writing and will enliven the event with numerous events both inside and outside their booth.

On both days at the Aurora booth, Master of the Nib Filippo Loghero will fascinate visitors by recounting the 100-year history the First Italian Tank Pen Factory and will hold writing demonstrations alternating various sizes of nibs made by the maison.

At the same time, mini calligraphy courses for adults taught by master calligrapher Ernesto Casciato will be held on a rotating basis at the Officina della Scrittura booth, while the educational staff of the Museum of Sign and Writing will offer all children who wish to participate the chance to learn the art of calligraphy in a playful and educational setting.

Always in the forefront when it comes to promoting new talents and writing-related cultural realities, Aurora and Officina della Scrittura have renewed their support for the YOWRAS Young Writers and Storytellers Association again this year, and at Milanofil they will host the third “Writer’s Tea” event on Saturday, March 23 at their booth, which will address the following topics: “Why I write, who I write for,” “Who’s afraid of presentation?” and “Marketing the perfect presentation.”

The format, which has a monthly cadence and whose first two editions have already met with considerable success in the spaces of Officina della Scrittura, is dedicated to all lovers of writing who have the opportunity to engage with professional authors on various topics related to their common passion. It is a unique opportunity for those who want to grasp the secrets of those who have made writing their life.

Also in the literary sphere, on March 22 at 6 p.m. at the Loft Room of Superstudio Più Aurora will collaborate with Associazione Giuditta on the presentation of the book “Mariti” published by Piemme, with the presence of 4 of the 26 authors: Luisa Ciuni, Tiziana Ferrario, Elena Mora and Nicoletta Sipos. A book by women for women with a charitable intent: the royalties from this anthology will in fact be entirely donated to the new training center opened in Varanasi (India) by the Indian nonprofit Samparc and the Italian foundation Belladonna. At the end of the presentation, it will be possible to purchase the book autographed by the authors present at the event.

Finally, Cesare Verona, President and CEO of Aurora, will be present at the Collectibles Talk Show on March 23 at 11 a.m. in the LOFT GRAND HALL (Poste Italiane pavilion). The meeting will discuss the history of the fountain pen and Aurora, which turns 100 this year, an important milestone that Poste Italiane has decided to honor with a commemorative stamp.

The event is free and will be open to the public with the following times: March 22, 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. / March 23, 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
